The house
Trufflepig combines a distinctive approach to travel, deep first-hand expertise and, most importantly, the ability to listen. Every trip begins with understanding the client’s requests, hopes, dreams and particularities. When hiring planners, we value travel experience and regional knowledge, but place even greater importance on empathy and the ability to see the world through someone else’s eyes.
Our planning team spends more than 500 days a year on the road, inspecting hotels, camps and lodges, vetting partners and guides, testing activities, meals and transport, getting lost, taking notes and forming informed opinions. We combine this proprietary knowledge with what we learn from each client, starting every journey from a blank slate. In 22 years, we have never planned the same trip twice.
There is, however, a Trufflepig house style. We seek worth rather than price and value the small, spontaneous experience as highly as the great indulgence. We once sent a queen to a tiny French B&B costing less than $100, and it became her favorite place. Our Trip Piglet covers every logistical detail while pointing clients toward the right walk, view, shop, bar, winery, farm or conversation. Those moments often become travel’s most enduring memories, and our job is to create the conditions in which they can happen.
