The Alliance in Figures: USD 712.3M in Luxury Travel, 2025

In 2025, the member houses of The Alliance recorded a combined turnover of USD 712.3 million.

The figure matters less for its size than for what lies behind it. It was not generated by thousands of agencies or by a mass-market platform. It is the work of 31 independent, owner-led houses, each designing private journeys one client at a time. That is an average of more than USD 22 million per house. In a trade where most agencies remain small, those are the numbers of the very top of the market.

The Alliance brings together a select number of the finest bespoke luxury travel agencies in the world, 31 houses today. None can apply to join. Each is invited, and admitted only with the agreement of the membership. What the figures describe is not a network assembled for volume, but a circle chosen for excellence.

Built over decades.

In 2024, The Alliance carried out its first Marketing Caliber study among all 31 of its member agencies at the time. It found houses founded, on average, in 1999, and more than half before 2005: over 25 years of experience in ultra-luxury travel. Together they operated 42 sales offices in 30 countries across six continents, with 625 travel designers on staff.

Journeys designed, not sold.

The average booking was USD 35,478, for an average of 3.35 travelers. These are private, fully tailored journeys for couples, families and small groups, from cultural and safari expeditions to multigenerational family travel.

Trust as the business model.

The study also shows where clients come from. Repeat clients are the leading source of business, followed by personal referrals and the owners' own networks. Members convert, on average, 67% of the inquiries they receive. High-net-worth travelers do not find these houses through advertising. They are recommended to them, and they come back.

A standard, not a size.

What unites the members of The Alliance is not scale but a way of working. It means the owner's personal involvement, deep knowledge of destinations, relationships built over years with the world's best hotels and partners, and a refusal to compromise on the client's experience. The figures are the result of that standard, not its purpose.

Behind every figure is an owner who answers personally for every journey. That, more than any number, is what defines The Alliance.
